The Arc Lane County Mission Statement
The Arc advocates to enhance the dignity, expand the opportunities, and protect
the rights of persons with developmental disabilities and their families.
Our Vision:
The Arc envisions a world in which all persons have the support and
opportunities they need for personal development, independence, and
interdependence with family and friends, and inclusion in the community.
We Believe:
People with developmental disabilities have the right to live in
and be part of their community.
Full inclusion should be a reality not a dream.
Families with children with developmental disabilities should get the
support they need to maintain a healthy family.
People who work with individuals with developmental disabilities should
earn a living wage and receive the training they need.
The Arc Lane County has advocated for and provided services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1953. Services for children’s and families are:
JumpStart - Center-based after school respite program for children, ages 5-21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Take a Break Program - Center-based Saturday program for families who have children ages 0 to 17 with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their siblings.
APLUS (Adult People Learning Useful Skills) - Center-based afternoon respite program for ages 18 and over providing instruction and practice of useful skills. Friday Night Fun - Center-based Friday night respite program for ages 18+. Socialize and have fun with peers.
Families Connected - A monthly support group program for families with children, ages 0-17.
